Wood Working Inspiration

I take inspiration from the finds of medieval York, or Jorvik, in England. Through the 9th through 11th centuries, the city was predominantly Norse influenced. Through the digs at Coppergate in York, an astonishing number of finds have been made including many fragments and almost complete wooden bowls and cups.

The York Archaeological Trust has published a number of books on the finds with my favourite being Wood and Woodworking in Anglo-Scandinavian and Medieval York which provides a wealth of information.
